- D: How it feels to interact with it, how do they connect
- A: Emotional and narrative aspects
- Example, MDA applied to hookscrap
- M: Enemies drop loot on destruction that is used in creating upgrades, the loot depends on the type of ship.
- D: The player can figure out what kind of ships drop what kind of scrap and so they can target that kind of ship, so they get to have knowledge to have a choice
- A: You can only get hyperdrive parts from racing ships
